About The Event
Bangerang community members are invited to be part of an important series of On Country workshops focused on understanding the growing sediment issue in the River Murray.
Recent investigations have shown that around 20 million cubic metres of sand is building up in the Barmah-Millewa reach—also known as The Narrows. This build-up is affecting the health of the river and impacting environmental, cultural, social and economic values, including those important to Bangerang people.
This project is an opportunity for community members to come together, learn more about what’s happening in the river, and explore how we can be part of the conversation around managing these impacts.
